At POSH, we are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive work environment and empowering our employees to make a difference through a wide range of community engagement initiatives.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

Our employees' health and well-being are our foremost priority. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our employees to achieve our goal of “One Team, One Goal–Zero Harm”. Our investment in improving Health, Safety and Environmental (“HSE”) policies and practices continues unabated.

To further enhance POSH’s commitment to safety, we have a Safety Handbook that reflects the latest safety standards. The POSH 10 Golden Rules was also developed to inculcate a safety culture at POSH.

Human Capital Development

As of January 2021, POSH employs a diverse workforce of 1,100 employees from 23 different countries, bringing together a range of skills, backgrounds, and experiences. We are constantly enhancing training for all our employees–both onshore and offshore, to take POSH and the maritime sector forward.

  • In-house learning programmes across all seniority levels, including developing leadership and technical competencies related to employees’ job scopes
  • Partnering with renowned local institutions to cultivate a pipeline of local talent in critical overseas operations which include Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and the Philippines
  • Collaborating with regional Maritime Colleges for cadetship training programmes in the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore to nurture and cultivate a healthy pipeline of next-generation seafarers
  • Dedicated ship-to-shore exposure opportunities, aiding seafarers' career transitions to onshore opportunities

Caring for our Community

We support the communities we serve and collaborate closely with non-profit organisations to create long-term benefits—while encouraging our employees to reach their fullest potential.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community work includes:

  • Organising the 2017 Charity Walk at Punggol Waterway Park that raised more than S$50,000 for SUN-DAC, a non-profit social service agency that serves and cares for clients with disabilities
  • Hosting the 2018 Charity Walk at Gardens by the Bay to raise more than S$150,000 for SUN-DAC and Care SG, offering some support for caring and serving those with varying intellectual, physical, mental, sensory and learning disabilities
  • Volunteering for #BYOBclean, a Stay Prepared initiative led by Temasek Foundation, where our employees distributed free hand sanitisers to households, to help the community stay safe and healthy during the COVID-19 crisis

Scholarship program for our seafarers’ dependents
POSH believes in the important role of education. As a tradition over the past decade, POSH has established scholarship funds for the children of our junior seafaring employees in Manila and Jakarta to assist in funding the educational needs of qualified young people.
